Why

Oh why do the young not listen
To the wisdom of the old,
Why do they think they know it all,
Why will they not be told.

Why do they reject advice,
And stubbornly refuse,
To accept their parents warning
And scorn grandparents views.

They rush to find their pleasures,
Oh! Why will they not wait,
For one day they’ll wake up and find
Advice is then too late.
